Gewurztraminer grape variety

This grape is a pink aromatic mutation of the white savagnin (the grape grown in Jura region). Very famous in Alsace and Moselle, the Gewurztraminer is cultivated in many other countries. In Alsace, when vinified alone, it can be used for dry or sweet wine production. It has a strong, very typical dry fragrance, with an often medium acidity, which can be aged for several years, and several decades for the sweet Selection de Grains Nobles. Its signature aromas are litchi, rose and pepper.
