Marsanne

Marsanne

Marsanne grape variety

The Marsanne is in most cases blended with Roussanne. Vinified alone, its wine is lighter than the latter, with low acidity and less bouquet, but with a higher ageing potential. It is mainly grown in the Rhône Valley, a bit in Languedoc (Corbières), Provence (Cassis) and now in Savoie region.
Typical aromas of white peach, dried apricot, beeswax, dried fruits (almond, hazelnut and walnut) and white flowers.
