Mourvèdre grape variety

Mourvèdre is a grape variety of Spanish origin and has been cultivated for a long time in Provence, with great result in AOP Bandol where its expression reaches perfection. It gives a very solid structured wine, rich in alcohol and tannins, very colorful, rough in the first years, requiring generally several years of aging. It is very often blended with other varietals such as Grenache Noir and Syrah. It has typical aromas of empyreumatic perfumes, plum, leather, musk animal notes, pepper and licorice.
