Petit Manseng grape variety

Petit Manseng is a typical Pyrenean grape variety that is famous for the Jurançon white wines. It is mostly used for sweet wine production, where it gives very aromatic wines of great finesse and very high acidity. The grapes are let to dry on the vines thanks to a hot wind coming from the mountain after the growing season (foehn effect) and then late harvested. The typical aromas of Petit Manseng are those of pineapple, passion fruit, peach, honey, spicy and floral notes, with sometimes citrus zest.
