Pinot Noir grape variety

Pinot Noir is very likely to be from Burgundy origin, and is certainly now the king grape for red wines there, in famous Grand Cru names around the Côtes de Nuits. It is also the main black grape of the Champagne and Jura regions. Pinot Noir produces a wine of beautiful red color, with signature aromas of cherry, sour cherry, strawberry, raspberry and lots of exquisite aromas coming from oak ageing as Pinot Noir is very suitable for fermentation and ageing in wood.
