Sangiovese (Niellucio) grape variety

Called Niellucio in Corsica, Sangiovese is originally from Italy and is the Tuscan grape producing the famous Brunello de Montalcino and Chianti. In France, on the Corsica island, it is part of the wine Vin de Corse and Ajaccio appellations and has largely contributed to the reputation of the wines of the Patrimonio and Figari appellations. It gives a fruity wine, well balanced, rich in alcohol, with a certain fineness, with high level of tannins and well suitable for oak aging. Typical aromas of red berries, spices and peppery violet.
