Tannat

Typical grape variety of South West of France. It gives a powerful red wine with an intense color, full-bodied, high alcohol, high tannins - one of the richest tannins level of all known grape varieties - somewhat astringent, requiring several years of aging to be consumable, to be aged preferably in oak barrels. Its typical aromas are of blackcurrant, raspberry and blackberry.
